Submission Guidelines


Eligibility:

Series, Movies Made for Television and Talk Shows are eligible for nomination if released between January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023 and delivered to audiences by broadcast, cable, or digital apps and services.
 
TV series will have aired six new episodes with a minimum of 20 minutes per episode to be eligible. TV movies need to have a minimum of 75 minutes running time. Exceptions will be considered upon request to David Freedman: dfreedman@criticschoice.com.

 

Critics Choice Awards TV/Streaming categories are:

  • Best Drama Series
  • Best Actor in a Drama Series
  • Best Actress in a Drama Series
  • Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
  • Best Comedy Series
  • Best Actor in a Comedy Series
  • Best Actress in a Comedy Series
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
  • Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
  • Best Comedy Special
  • Best Limited Series
  • Best Movie Made for Television
  • Best Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie Made for Television
  • Best Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie Made for Television 
  • Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie Made for Television 
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie Made for Television 
  • Best Talk Show 
  • Best Animated Series

Submission Instructions:

Entrants will submit the following materials:

  • Basic information about the Submitter and the Entry (including submitter contact info, entry title, production company, network, episode premiere date, etc.).
  • A logline of up to 50 words that describes the complete series. 
  • Not required but suggested: An essay of up to 300 words regarding the submission, as a guide for judges. The essay may be used to call attention to factors which make the entry worthy of recognition.  It can address such points as the creative and production goals of the entry, techniques used to achieve these goals, any challenges that were met, and the impact of the program.  The essay will be seen by judges alongside the video.
  • A representative photo.  For all entries, a promotional still, with no text or logos.
  • A video of a representative episode from a series, movie or talk show.
    You have three video options:
    • Provide a digital link to the screener with a password.
    • Provide a FYC website with a password or promo code.
    • Upload the video. Video requirements:
           Video: 1920×1080 progressive
           Codec: H.264
           Bit Rate: 6-8 MB
           Audio: AAC, stereo, 192-320kbps, 44-48 kHz
           MP4 format is preferred
           No timecodes
            No bars & tones
           No commercials, a few seconds of black is optional
           Slate is optional but preferred
           The file should be under 4GB
           File name must include:  Show or Performer name, and Category.

Entry Fees:

Show Entry Fee (for series, movie, or talk show): $320

Talent Entry Fee (for all categories):
$200 for one actor entry or $400 for unlimited actor entries per Show.

Submissions close: November 13, 2023

support@criticschoice.com and arrange for payment via PayPal or credit card or to receive an invoice to pay by check.
